Delete your data — Journal & Notes
Last updated: 19 October 2026
You don't need to email us. The app has no accounts and no servers: everything is on your phone, and deleting it there deletes it everywhere.
1. Delete a page or a note
- Open it, tap ⋮ at the top, then Move to trash.
- It waits in Settings › Trash for 30 days, where you can restore it, then goes for good with its earlier versions and photos.
2. Delete a journal
- Open the journal, tap ⋮, then Delete journal.
- Its pages go to the trash, as above.
3. Delete everything
- Open Android Settings › Apps › Journal & Notes › Storage.
- Tap Clear storage. Every journal, page, photo, task and setting goes, and the PIN with them.
4. Uninstall
Long-press the app's icon and tap Uninstall. That removes the app and all of its data.
5. Backups and copies you made
Backup files (.zip) and PDFs you saved, including the folder for Auto backup, are ordinary files where you put them. Delete them there.
Google Drive backups: open Settings › Backup › Turn off Drive backup › Turn off and delete backups. Without the app, open Google Drive on the web, then Settings › Manage apps › Journal & Notes › Options › Delete hidden app data.
6. Forgot your PIN?
It can't be reset. Clear the app's storage (step 3), then open Settings › Backup & restore › Restore from a backup and pick your latest backup file.
