Privacy Policy — NoteDraft
Last updated: 21 July 2026
NoteDraft ("the app", "we") is an offline-first notebook and workflow organizer published by AAS Codeworks. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it is stored, and the limited cases where it leaves your device. NoteDraft has no user accounts and no cloud sync — your notes live on your device.
1. Summary
- Your notes, lists, attachments, voice recordings, passwords, and pinned places are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to us.
- We do not operate any server and we never receive your content.
- The app shows no ads. It connects to the internet only for: in-app purchases (Google Play Billing), optional in-app YouTube playback, and fetching an image you paste from the web (downloaded once from that website, then stored on your device). These are described below.
2. Data stored on your device (not collected by us)
| Data | Purpose | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Notes, lists, templates, tables, code drafts, workflows | Core app functionality | Local database |
| Photos & file attachments | Attach media to notes | App-private storage by default; optionally a folder you pick (Settings ▸ Storage) |
| Voice recordings | Voice notes you record (via your device's sound-recorder app) | App-private storage |
| Location coordinates (Map Journal) | Pin places you choose to save | Local database |
| Passwords (Password vault) & encrypted notes | Secure storage you opt into | Encrypted (AES-GCM) in local database |
| Reminders | Local notifications you schedule on notes | Local database + Android alarm |
This data is excluded from Android cloud backup by default, and encrypted entries are protected with a password held only in memory while unlocked. We cannot read it. Attachment files (photos, audio, video, documents) are stored as ordinary files and are not themselves encrypted, even when the note that references them is.
3. Permissions and why they are used
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Location (precise/approximate) | Only when you actively pin a place in the Map Journal. Used in the foreground only — there is no background tracking. You are shown a consent dialog before first use. |
| Microphone | NoteDraft does not request microphone permission. Voice notes and voice typing use your device's own sound-recorder and speech apps; the resulting recording or text is saved into your note and stays on your device. |
| Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) | To deliver reminders you set on notes. Requested in-context, the first time you set a reminder. |
| Alarms & reboot (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED) | So reminders you scheduled still fire after the device restarts. |
| Internet | In-app purchases, optional YouTube playback, and one-time download of images you paste from the web. |
4. No advertising
NoteDraft shows no ads and contains no advertising SDKs. There is no advertising identifier collection and no ad-related tracking of any kind.
5. In-app purchases (Google Play Billing)
The optional one-time "Premium" unlock and optional tips are processed by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment details; Google handles the transaction. See Google's Privacy Policy.
6. YouTube playback
If you add a YouTube link in the workflow editor, playback uses the YouTube player, which is governed by Google/YouTube's Privacy Policy. This is optional and only occurs when you choose to play a video.
7. Data sharing
We do not sell your data. We do not share your notes or personal content with anyone. The only third parties involved are Google (Play Billing, YouTube) for the limited functions above, acting under their own privacy policies.
8. Data retention & deletion
Because data is stored locally, you control it. Deleting a note (then "Delete forever" in Trash), clearing the app's storage, or uninstalling NoteDraft removes the associated data from your device. A backup you export can be deleted by removing the backup file. Step-by-step instructions: Delete my data. No deletion request to us is needed — we hold no copy of your data.
9. Children
NoteDraft is not directed at children under 13. We collect no personal data from anyone, including children.
10. Changes
We update this policy when the app changes; the "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision.
